PROFESSIONAL SERVICES WITH A PERSONAL TOUCH

At Frank J. Scarano CPA, PLLC, our accounting and consulting firm has served nonprofit organizations throughout the New York Metropolitan area for 37 years. Our staff of professionals have provided services to many different nonprofit organizations including, National fund raisers, Child Care Agencies, Religious organizations, organizations that care for the Developmentally Disabled, Educational institutions, Community Based organizations, Voluntary Health and Welfare organizations and many more. Our concentration in serving the nonprofit industry has given us the opportunity to assist nonprofit organizations to achieve their goals in all areas of management and financial reporting.

Our CPA firm has a thorough understanding of the importance of the many factors that determine the success of your nonprofit organization including funding from federal and state agencies as well as individual and corporate donations and compliance regulations. These factors can determine how successful your nonprofit organization will be as well as determine your ability to grow and continue to serve the needs of the community.

Understanding your organization

Our audit approach is similar to a compliance audit required for federally funded programs referred to as an A-133 audit. Our audit engagements are more than a simple audit of the organizations financial statements. We review the organization’s structure, mandates of the Board of Directors and the results of operations for each individual program. This entails the review of the allocation and distribution of costs and the appropriateness of these distributions. Each organization is unique; therefore, each audit must be designed to meet the needs of the organization, at a cost they can afford.

Communication and Reports

The communication and reporting on financial statements varies considerably from client to client. Meeting the needs of each client is important to us. Our objectives are to:

  1. Work with the organization to avoid surprises.
  2. Keep appropriate levels of management and executive committee members fully informed of identified issues and opportunities.
  3. Enhance internal control procedures and operations.
  4. Discuss our observations and findings with management.
